Hello. What you find here are the thoughts of a down home, folksy, country boy, now living in an old man’s body, in the heart of rural central Georgia. Just old-fashioned common sense seasoned with a sprinkling of “ridicularious” rural Southern humor, including storytales!

I’ll reminisce about growing up on the farm. I’ll reflect upon my personal relationship with God, my understanding of the Bible, and what I believe church is all about. I’ll explore relationships and communication in the family and community.

I’ll open up my special interest in the adjustments of later life from early dependence all the way through death and family grieving. If you or a friend has lost a loved one to death, several posts may be of interest.

End-of-life planning, vigils, simple funerals, and natural burial could be posted soon.

Stress, oh, my goodness, yes, stress, deserves a whole fence row of posts all its own!

I grew up with down home, Southern country rural folksy people, sayin’ “y’all,” eatin’ grits, and drinkin’ sweet ice tea. We listened to The Grand Ole Opry and Minnie Pearl on Saturday night. I got a bath that night, too, and shined my shoes for church the next day.

Y’all git down and come on in. Pull up a chair and set a spell. ‘Scuse me a minute while I see if I can rustle yiupuh glassuh tea.
